FatBurn Extreme (FBX) is a Scottish developed fitness workout that uses the after burn effect to shed calories for hours after you finish working out.

The brain child of local fitness guru Dianne Teo, it is a class that is spreading like wildfire not only here in the UK but across the world with new instructors and classes appearing across Japan, Australia and Thailand. And if a fitness programme from Scotland is being picked up in Asia where the martial arts were conceived you know it's got to be good!

With over 40 years in the health and fitness industry, Dianne's workout programme caters to everyone looking to tone up, shift excess body fat and improve their cardiovascular abilities. It's a high intensity class that moves at a fast pace but never too fast for participants as everyone works to their own maximum, not the maximum dictated by the instructor. If you reach your peak and need a time out you take one, the key is to always be aiming for your max so your body is burning fat at its max too.

Come along and checkout a FatBurn Extreme class this week and find out why Scotland is making its mark on the world fitness map!

Weight Watchers App is incredible!!!

Over the last 20 years I've lost weight using Weight Watchers principles a few different times. When I was going to Weight Watchers there was no such thing as an "App" for anything. We went to the meetings, weighed in once a week, and together lost weight and learned to change what we eat. It worked! Unfortunately the three times I reached my goal I eventually lost track and gained the weight back. This has happened once again until recently I decided enough was enough and the first thing that came to mind was how successful I was at Weight Watchers. As I began to look into signing up again it became apparent there was this Weight Watchers App that I could join instead of going to in person meetings, and what with the pandemic still an issue, I decided to give the app a try, so I signed up for it, and downloaded it. I have been using the app for about a week and a half, and find the App to be amazing! There are so many things wrapped up
Into the Weight Watchers App I am already becoming very successful with over 5 pounds of weight lost on my goal to lose 60 pounds. The app is extremely user friendly in every way! There is even a scanner that scans to food label and you can find out how many points each food item is. There is a tremendous amount of social media related groups as well where I find fantastic support, recipes, and encouragement! For the price of using the app it is a steal! Truly remarkable!

It's broken it's broken

I am a totally blind customer who has been using the app for the last 4 1/2 to 5 years successfully. Yesterday there was a major update and now I am not able to use either the calculator or the quick ad. They have broken the edit fields so that when I try to put in the information rather than just excepting the words as I find the letters it's putting in every single letter as I go by them as well, when I try to put in the numbers that I need to put in it will not except the numbers when I go back to make sure the words and the numbers are in the app it shows every single number I went by to put them in but it doesn't really put them in it just creates a mess. I really hope someone can fix this. So much of the weight watchers material and products that involve using scales for calculating foods etc. are not accessible and I am completely dependent I'm using the app as many of the books are not available to me. The app is the reason I have continued in the program, and I use and value both a quick add and the calculator. I really hope someone looks at this and considers fixing it. Weight watchers had an agreement many years ago that they would keep the app accessible. It is this accessibility that has made it one of the better programs for those of us with vision issues. I strongly urge someone to please please please fix it. We who cannot see depend on it.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback! We will make sure that we notify the appropriate department about this. Please reach out again if there is anything additional we can assist you with. Wishing you all the luck on your continued wellness journey.

Awesome app!!

This app offers so much, including making it your own, adapting their resources on your own style and needs. It is so diverse, includes different levels on intensity and types of exercises. ( HIIT, running, stretching, yoga, cardio, dance) It includes articles on every aspect that affect and impact our eating patterns and weight management, such as anxiety, sleeping patterns, habits on eating more unhealthy foods, self esteem, etc. Most of all it takes care of each one in a holistically way, including: mind, body and spirit to fulfill your wellbeing in a healthier way. Facilitating on reframing reframing those "stuck" beliefs we can have in our minds and how they continuously have a domino effect on our actions and emotions making us to go to unhealthy choices to avoid feelings and all of these happen in automatic pilot. Let's pause be aware of this precious gift of the present moment and begin to be aware of our choices. Look up for your "mojo", your "for what" I want to loose weight. Remember each one of us is a beautiful and gorgeous being and we want to fulfill our purpose, enjoy life at the fullest, share and be there for the ones we love, for all your f that and much more we need to be energized, healthier…. It is NOT a matter of having a "skinny body as a model", it is about your "why you want to be healthier, vigorous, energized". Be courageous, BE BOLD!! Thank you WW and I am very grateful that Oprah is part of your team.

About Himalayan

Royal Enfield Himalayan is a adventure bike available at a starting price of Rs. 2,10,576 in India. It is available in 3 variants and 9 colours with top variant price starting from Rs. 2,18,065. The Royal Enfield Himalayan is powered by 411cc BS6 engine which develops a power of 24.3 bhp and a torque of 32 Nm. With both front and rear disc brakes, Royal Enfield Himalayan comes up with anti-locking braking system. This Himalayan bike weighs 199 kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 15 liters.

The Himalayan is Royal Enfield's off-road focussed motorcycle that received BS6-upgrade in 2020. In 2021, the motorcycle received three new colour schemes – Mirage Silver (new), Pine Green (new), and Granite Black (updated). The new colour options are accompanied by the existing options – Rock Red, Lake Blue, and Gravel Grey. Meanwhile, the company has discontinued the Snow and Sleet Grey paint options from the list.

The 2021 model also benefits from Royal Enfield's Tripper Navigation system. The navigation system is powered by Google Maps and it works with the Royal Enfield smartphone application to give turn-by-turn directions. The semi-digital instrument cluster, on the other hand, remains similar to the previous model. Other changes include revisions to the seat, the rear carrier, the front rack, and an updated design for the windscreen to further enhance the motorcycle's touring capabilities.

The feature list retains halogen headlight, switchable ABS, and a hazard light switch. The mechanical specifications continue to use a 411cc, single-cylinder engine that makes 24.3bhp of power at 6,500rpm and 32Nm of peak torque at 4,500rpm. The motor is linked to a five-speed gearbox.

In terms of cycle parts, the Himalayan retains the 21-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel shod with dual-sport rubber. Braking is done by a 300mm disc up front and a 220mm disc at the rear with dual-channel ABS as standard. Suspension duties are taken care of by 41mm telescopic forks up front and a monoshock at the rear.

In terms of competition, the Royal Enfield Himalayan goes up against the BMW G310 GS and the KTM 250 Adventure in India.

Royal Enfield Himalayan Expert Opinion

  • Good Things

    • Engine has lots of torque
    • High ground clearance
    • Dual-purpose tyres mounted on spoke wheels
  • Could be Better

    • Misses out on kickstart
    • High seat height can be a problem for short riders

BikeWale's Take

The Himalayan is Royal Enfield's most affordable motorcycle in the adventure touring segment. It packs a torquey motor, good off-roading capabilities and a comfortable upright riding stance. Apart from touring it can also be used for daily commuting.

Royal Enfield Himalayan Review

The Royal Enfield Himalayan changed the way motorcyclists travel and tour in India. This bike gave a lot of Indians the ability to see new places and explore the wild side of this vast country – all in a budget that didn't burn a hole in the pocket. In fact, I know some people whose first bike was the Himalayan and four years later, they are still holding onto it purely due to their love for affordable travel and exploration.

Introduction

Front View

The Royal Enfield Himalayan changed the way motorcyclists travel and tour in India. This bike gave a lot of Indians the ability to see new places and explore the wild side of this vast country – all in a budget that didn't burn a hole in the pocket. In fact, I know some people whose first bike was the Himalayan and four years later, they are still holding onto it purely due to their love for affordable travel and exploration.

For 2021, Royal Enfield decided to make things a bit fancier, more comfortable and aspirational for the Indian buyers. So it gave it some new paint schemes, a navigation system, better windscreen and the seat. We spent a few days with this Royal Enfield and this is what we feel about this ADV. But before, we get into the details, let's talk about the aesthetic upgrades.

The Visuals

Right Side View

The Himalayan was always known for its no-non sense, rugged and versatile design. ADVs by nature and form are bound to be abused quite a lot in various terrains. That means, there will be plenty of falls. The Himalayan's design allows the rider to save some money because the bodywork and the panels aren't affected much. Just some scratches that honestly don't make the bike look shabby.

Right Rear Three Quarter

For 2021, Royal Enfield also decided to give the Himalayan some fancy new paint schemes. The one you see here goes by the name Pine Green and it looks pretty cool, especially if you park it in the wild. The bike also gets a revised windscreen. This time it's wider (to accommodate the tripper) and also a bit darker (due to the tint). The Chennai-based company has also worked on making the frame next to the fuel tank smaller. As a result, taller riders are far more comfortable now as their knees don't hit the frame anymore under hard braking. The tail section has been revised too, thanks to the addition of a new tail rack. It now gets a metal plate on top of it to make loading of luggage friendlier.

The Package

Royal Enfield Himalayan Handlebar Assembly

The Himalayan is equipped with dual-channel ABS. This system lets you switch off ABS at the back so that you can have more control off-road. There's this new navigation display added on the cluster that shows the direction. But in order to use this feature, the system needs to be connected to the smartphone and that can be done via Royal Enfield's connected app.

Royal Enfield Himalayan Front Suspension

Most of the other cycle parts like the suspension, brakes, tyres and wheels have been carried over from the outgoing model. Unfortunately, the 2021 Himalayan continues to get the same old bulb setup on the headlight and also on the turn indicators.

The Ride

Front View

The 2021 Himalayan feels no different than its 2020 counterpart when it comes to performance and ride. The single-cylinder still carries the same level of refinement. The NVH is pretty good. The power delivery is linear and the good torque low-down keeps things interesting on the road as well as off the road. Due to increase in weight, there's a noticeable difference in performance, thanks to decreased power-to-weight ratio, but the experience continues to be fun.

Front View

100kmph is a comfortable cruising speed for this Himalayan. It can even stay at 110kmph for long hours but you will have to deal with minimal vibes. The five-speed gearbox has got minutely better, but it is still not perfect.  There are no complaints about the ride comfort. The bike is excellent there, thanks to the brilliant suspension setup.

Front View

Plus that comfortable and wide seat is an icing on the cake. Even for stand-up riding, the ergos are perfect. Taller riders don't necessarily need a handlebar riser. The brakes though, especially the front one still needs some work in the feel and power departments. The rear works flawlessly and yes, it is still fun to switch off the ABS at the rear wheel and get that rear out in the dirt.

Conclusion

Front View

With the 2021 upgrades, the Royal Enfield Himalayan has become far more desirable. The new paint scheme is stunning to look at. The turn-by-turn navigation system works and with its multiple color combination makes it feel a bit more premium. Other small changes like the wider windscreen and smaller fuel tank frame have made the bike a bit more practical. In terms of comfort, the Himalayan has been excelling since long and it's no different with the 2021 version. And when it comes to the overall performance, this ADV works well for Indian conditions. The high-speed touring might be little difficult due to vibrations but the Himalayan clearly works as a 100kmph all day motorcycle. It can also be used in the city on an everyday basis, but its kerb weight might bother a few of the riders. So in short, buy the Himalayan if you are into exploring the country on two-wheels and also want to use it as a daily commuter.
